Ford to Auction Last of the 1,964 Ford Mustang 50 Year Limited Edition Series - We heard that the last of the 1,964 50 Year Limited Edition Mustangs is going to be autographed by top Ford executives and sent to a Barrett-Jackson auction. The proceeds will be donated to Edith and Benson Ford Heart & Vascular Institute.
Instead of the car, the winning bidder will also receive a VIP package to the Ford EcoBoost 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Homestead-Miami Speedway. The auction package includes airfare, hotel accommodations and two VIP tickets to the track. In addition, a Ford NASCAR driver will run hot laps in Mustang No. 1,964 ahead of the race of course.
As said by the company, each of the 1,964 limited-edition Mustangs features a plaque on the instrument panel engraved with a serial number and the signature of Ford Motor Company Executive Chairman Bill Ford. Well, on top of that, Mustang No. 1,964 will be customized into a one-of-one pace car package that includes the signatures of other Ford executives.
Furthermore, the car get its public debut at the Get Your Heart Racing Pit Party on September 12 at Eastern Market in Detroit and will go under the hammer at the Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas auction that takes place September 25-27 this year.
This car model is available in two exclusive colors, Wimbledon White and Kona Blue. It features subtle chrome surrounds for each of the three LED blades that make up each rear light, louvered rear quarter windows, as well as an axel spin finish for the aluminum trim panel used on the dashboard and a special serialized 50 Year Limited Edition badge on the passenger side of course.
